Trust the college crowd to know. For the fifth year, the Faculty Wives Club at Arizona State University University will welcome new faculty wives with a poolside salad supper Tuesday, Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the home of President President and Mrs. G. Homer Durham. It is a dressy party for wives only. The hostess group takes care to serve only its most treasured dishes. Mrs. John A. Cochran, club president, president, recalls her instant rapport with the weather when Dr. Cochran moved the family here six years ago. As chairman of. this welcoming party party the following year, she suggested the salad supper, dozens of homemade homemade salads served in the open. "What could picture so quickly to strangers the Arizona way of life?" Not even her imagination foretold the impact of a sunset on snowy linen, linen, 100 sparkling salads and heaps of home baked hot breads. It was a sight and night to remember and repeat. The Faculty Wives Club, first organized organized in 1930, now has almost 500 members. Within that group, newcomers newcomers belong to a special two-year two-year two-year Newcomers Group. Here the emphasis emphasis is on orientation to the university university and the community. Translation: a bus trip to Nogales for Christmas shopping and a crafts class in use of desert plants a treat a month. Second year newcomers always hostess the annual welcome. No matter matter what.
