Florence E. Cavanaugh, a resident of Phoenix 51 years, died yesterday in her home at 2130 W. Van Buren. She was 74. Mrs.

Cavanaugh was office manager for Fidelity Deposit Co. from 1922 to 1949. She was a member of the Truck Line Operator Succumbs A. J. (Archie) Hammons, 50, operator of a Phoenix truck line, died Tuesday, in a Las gas, hospital.

Mr. Hammons, 6848 W. Adams, a native of Oklahoma, moved to Phoenix in 1920. He lived in California Nevada from 1942 to 1955 and was a member of the Teamsters Union in Las Vegas. Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m.

tomorrow in A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams, by Elder Henry Donahue of Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Lusetta three daughters, Marilyn and Idamae Hammons, both of Phoenix, and Mrs. Donna Mattern of Ukiah, a son, Robert M. of Ukiah; and his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Hammons, a sister, Mrs. Pearl Keesler; and three brothers, Eugene, Billy, and Ralph Hammons, all of Phoenix.

Marvel I. Neveln Memorial services for Mrs. Marvel I. Neveln, 55, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Carr Mortuary, 26 E.

Fifth Tempe. Mrs. Neveln, 1702 E. Villa, died in her home Monday. Born in Currie, she moved to Phoenix 13 years ago from Minneapolis.

She also lived in Tempe three years. A son, Richard of Pueblo, a daughter, Mrs. Don S. Davis of Ogden, Utah; her father, Alfred Knutson of Currie; and two sisters and four brothers, all in Minnesota, survive. Cremation will follow services.

Mr. Kelsey, 3618 W. Monterey Way, moved to Phoenix a year ago from Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born in Missouri. She was a past worthy matron of the Order Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church at Ottumwa.

Two daughters, Virginia Kelsey and Mrs. Elizabeth Spillman, both of Phoenix; a son, Charles of Laredo; eight grandchildren and a great grandchild survive. Ross Santee GLOBE Private cremation rites were held in Greenwood Crematory at Phoenix yesterday for Ross Santee, the Western artist. Mr. Santee, 76, died Monday in the Gila General Hospital here.

Mr. Santee came to Arizona from the East in 1915, later served in World War I. He returned to become one of the country's best known western illustrators. A nephew, William Andrus of Davis, and two nieces, Mrs. Mary Louise Whitsell of Sacramento, and Mrs.

Alice Leffel of Spokane, survive. Miles Mortuary of Miami was in charge of arrangements. Evelyn A. Blais Rosary for Evelyn A. Blais, 52, who died yesterday North Mountain Hospital, will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

John J. Pershing's troops on the Mexican border at the time of their marriage. Mrs. Condon was a student at Sul Ross State Teachers' College at Alpine. Strong-Arming Suspect Jailed A Phoenix man was jailed yesterday in connection with a $1,000 strong-arm robbery.

Melvin Dixon, 25, of 2507 E. Corona was charged in the court of Justice of the Peace Ida Ann Westfall with grand theft. Detectives said Lynn Arthur Goodman, 24, of 3138 N. 82nd Place, Scottsdale, told them two men pushed their way into his motel room at 1865 E. Van Buren early Monday morning and took $382.50 and jewelry and other items valued at $638.

McCollister is a retired Rock Island Railroad switchman. Lewd Act Trial Set for July 20 Retrial of Roy Eugene Howard, 38, on a count of committing lewd and lascivious acts was reset yesterday for July 20 in Superior Court. The new trial, granted on Howard's appeal before the State Supreme Court, had been scheduled for June 21. He was convicted of committing unnatural acts with a 12-year-old girl in 1962. Two other counts of the same charge were dismissed by the Arizona Supreme Court in March, when the retrial ordered.

The two dismissed counts were dropped because the prosecution had failed to corroborate the victim's testimony. Corroboration was required because she was a "willing accomplice," the high court held.
