50, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010. He was born February 21, 1959 to Edward and Ingeborg Ray in Fort Carson, Colorado. Dan graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona and then an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from California Berkley.

After graduating he founded Level One Telecommunications Company in Sacramento, CA. In 2001, he moved to Austin, where he became a venture partner in JatoTech Ventures. Dan married his loving wife Kim Green on December 19, 2009 in the Bahamas. He is the proud and loving dad of three wonderful children, his daughters, Alexis Makoa Marie Ray and Makena Green and son, Trey Green. He is also survived by his parents and brother, Tim Ray and wife Tyson and sister, Terri Ray and many other loving family members and friends.

John was the son of long-time teacher, historian, and political activist Senoma Smith and notable Negro Baseball League pitcher and executive director of the Arizona Civil Rights Commission, John Ford Smith. John graduated from South Mountain High School in 1965 and attended Phoenix College before transferring to the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma.

or "Doc" as he was known, was born in Slayton, Minnesota to Dr. Louis C. and Achsah Christenson. He graduated from Slayton H.S. and went on to study Liberal Arts at Macalester College, 2 years later entering and graduating from the College of Dentistry at the University of Min- fell Grossman, N.

Bud a prominent Minneapolis businessman, philanthropist and community leader died on January 11, 2010 at his home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The cause of death was Alzheimer's Disease. He was 88 years old. Mr.Grossman, whose parents were Max and Ida Grossman, was born in Minneapolis, attended North High School, and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1941.

He was married in 1942 to Alene Lorberbaum, who died in 1988 he is also preceded in death by son, John, brother, Harold and sister, Marion Cohen. Survived by his second wife, Beverly Grossman, whom he married in 1992; sons, Richard, Thomas, Andrew and Joseph Grossman; thirteen grandchildren, Max, Abraham, Charles, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Matthew, Alene, Noah, Eliana, Jared, Alexandra and Jacob Grossman, and Rosa Vasquez; and seven great-grandchildren, Casey, Robyn and Zachary Vasquez; and Jack, Max, Annie and Zoe Grossman. Mr. Grossman served from 1942 through 1945 in the Army Air Corps where as a pilot he tested planes and taught instrument flying. Returning to Minneapolis after World War II, he went to work in the family retail automobile business, and with his brother Harold Grossman, operated a chain of car dealerships for the next thirty-two years.

The Grossmans founded General Leasing Company in 1956, which eventually became Gelco Corporation, one of the largest transportation leasing companies in the world. The company was sold in 1987 to GE Capital. Grossman was a co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Dyco Petroleum Corporation, a NYSE company. An active investor in many areas, he was an owner and director of the Minnesota Vikings Football Club. He also served on the Boards of Directors of General Mills, Toro, Ecolab, Northern States Power, Norwest Bank, Churchill Capital, and Sit Investment Associates.

Grossman served as Chairman of the Minnesota Orchestra, was Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the University of Minnesota School of Business and was a trustee of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Guthrie Theater and Carleton College. The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation for the kindness and professionalism of the three individuals who nursed Bud so lovingly through the later course of his illness: James Hunt, Darren Scott and Bruce Raben. His only child was born in 1940. L.P. joined the war effort in 1943 as a Medical Officer with the United States Navy and saw bat-' tie in the South Pacific. After WWII "Doc" brought his I family and practice to Phoenix. "Doc" was an amateur tion in 1969 and was inducted into the university's basketball Hall of Fame in 1992.

After graduation, John was drafted by the Seattle Supersonics where he played through the exhibition season and finally in the Eastern League. Upon his return to Phoenix, his love of education and children led him to become a teacher. He taught Head Start, in elementary school and worked with youth programs at the Salvation Army and various city park and recreation programs until he was recruited by the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters in 1972. John joined the team and traveled the world playing basketball with them until 1980. After leaving the Globetrotters, he continued to play comedy basketball over the next four years with the Harlem Wizards and Meadowlark Lemon's Bucketeers.

John was inducted into the Phoenix College Athletics Hall of Fame in May 2009. After retiring from basketball he pursued other interests: antique cars, horseback riding and 1830's to 1920's history. He included those "loves" with his interest in at-risk youth and, in 1991, joined a Buffalo Soldier's group whose purpose was to develop programs, provide civil war re-enactments, educational documentaries, and fund-rasiers for youth. He has numerous television, film, commercials, documentaries, live radio and television shows to his credit. John was most proud of being clean and sober for the past 26 years and devoted the remainder of his life to helping others overcome their addictions.

John is survived by his wife, Laura; four children: Renieka, Tisha, Tosha, and John III; three step sons: Charlie, Bryan and Joseph III; a sister, Jackie; 13 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends whose lives he touched. Clark, Allan T. "Bud" 72, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away January 9, 2010 in Peoria. He was born December 27, 1937 in Seattle, WA. Allan moved to Arizona in 2002. He owned and operated ATC Medical for 25 years both in southern California and Arizona.

He loved to golf and loved to travel, he will be greatly missed by his many friends. She obtained her Master's degree and was an educator in South Dakota for 42 years. She moved to Phoenix in 1980 with her late husband, Erick, who preceded her in death in 2000. She was renowned as a pianist, choral director and organist.

Survived by her daughter Sharon Cottor, son-in-law Bob Cottor, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her life will be celebrated at Westminster Village on Saturday, Janu ledonia, New York area, served in the U.S. Army, and moved to Phoenix in the late fifties. Richard was an avid racehorse handicapper who owned several winning thoroughbreds at Turf Paradise, including El Clove and Better Believe.
