He was a charter member of Creighton Methodist Church and in recent years a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. BEFORE MOVING to the his wife owned the Bar Box Ranch near Mayer, which is one of the oldest ranches in Arizona. Mr. Balmes purchased this ranch from the original owner, Henry J. Perry, who homesteaded it in 1862.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mortensen-Kings Funeral Center, 1020 W. Washington. Bishop W. D.
