The bride is the former Lavonne Elaine Lard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

John N. Lard, 1913 E. Campbell, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Halby of BlytYie.

Married recently in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Lakeside were Miss Inez Karen Prather and James Sheldon Webb. Parents of couple are Mrs. Grace Lahner and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Webb, all of Lakeside.

The couple, both Arizona State College students, will Mr. and Mrs. William Backer, 249 Calle de Madrid, Tucson, have announced the engagement of their daughter Carroll Ann to William C. Stewart of Phoenix. Mr.

Stewart is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harper C. Stewart, 3021 W. Monte Vista.

He is a senior engineering student at the University of Arizona. He is a graduate of Phoenix College, and attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. The bride-elect is a senior student in the university's College of Nursing. EXCITING NEW 1 SPRING live in Flagstaff.
