BULLDOG BULLDOG 26 The Arizona Republic Phoenix, Feb. 21, 1966 Obituaries W. D. O'Neil Dies; Rites Wednesday Smith Typewriter Co. He opened his shop at Central Avenue and Washington with one employe.

Now one of the state's largest letter shops, it is situated at 368 N. Second Ave. IN THE 1920s he traveled throughout the nation publicizing the attributes of Arizona, which he called God's country. Long active in many civic organizations, Mr. O'Neil was past president of the Hiram Club and Phoenix Advertising Club and was Is second patron and charter member of the Queen Esther Chapter of Order of Eastern Star.

A member of the El Zaribah Shrine, he served many times as marshal of the Shrine parade. A member of Phoenix Rotary Club, he edited the Rotarizonian magazines for 23 years. Other organizations of which he was a member include the Arizona Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, the Spanish-American War Veterans Club and the Sons of the American Revolution. MR. O'NEIL is survived by his wife, Mary two daughters, Mrs.

Harry A. Findor and Mrs. G. L. Pennington, all of Phoenix; a son, Dalton S.

of Tacoma, four grandsons and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W.

Adams. The Rev. Herbert P. Landes of Valley Presbyterian Church will officiate in conjunction with the Masonic funeral committee. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Mausoleum.

W.D. (Bucky) O'Neil, founder and president of O'Neil Letter Shop in Phoenix and a veteran of the Spanish-American War, died Saturday in St. Luke's Hospital. Mr. O'Neil, 87, lived at 3701 E.

Elm. He was born in Hudson, N.Y., and came to Phoenix in 1908 following a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy in the SpanishAmerican War. Before opening his printing business in 1908, he served as state distributor for the L. C.

Smith Typewriter Co. He opened W. D. (BUCKY) O'NEIL Phoenix Print Shop Owner cepcion; four daughters, Mrs. Aurora Minas of El Paso, Mrs.

Lily Barriga of Oracle, Mrs. Josephine Aguallo of Morenci and Mrs. Carolyn Paez of San Diego; two brothers, Manuel of El Paso and Ernesto of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. Luz Alderete, Mrs. Adela Salvate and Mrs.

Lupe Norte, all of El Paso, and 14 grandchildren. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 p.m. today until 9 a.m. tomorrow. Dorothy Wray PEORIA Services for Mrs.

Dorothy E. Wray, a 15-year resident here, will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Brazill-Whitney Mortuary, 5754 W. Glenn Drive, Glendale, with the Rev. Harold M.

Heath officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Mrs.

Wray, of 33 E. Madison, died Friday in Luke Air Force Base Hospital. A resident here since 1951, she was born in Forbes, Mo. She is survived by her husband, Byron; four daughters, Lt. Col.

Hope W. Metzger, USAF, Honolulu, Mrs. Donald P. Cummings of Fond Du Lac, Mrs. Leland R.

Hamilton of Webster Groves, and Mrs. Robert E. Tucker of Phoenix; and 13 grandchildren. Dorothy Brown CHANLDER Services for Mrs. Dorothy Brown, 48, a Chandler area resident for 30 years will be held at 10:30 a.m.

today in the Bueler Mortuary chapel, 14 W. Hulet. The Rev. John E. Miller of the Conservative Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Mesa Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Thursday in a Phoenix hospital. She was (born in Ganns, and lived at 372 E. Cleveland St.

here. Survivors include four sons, Carl, Kenneth, Bobby and Billy, all "of Chandler; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Scarborough of Fort Worth, and three sisters out of state. Annie Richardson CHANDLER Mrs. Annie G.

Richardson, 81, a winter visitor from Canada for the past seven years, died Saturday at her residence at 151 N. Arizona Ave. Funeral services and burial will be in Sarnia, her home. Bueler Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Arthur a daughter, Mrs.

N. C. Simmons of Sarnia; a stepdaughter, Mrs. John Romanko of Clinton, five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Marvin E.

Brown Funeral services for Marvin E. Brown, 54, who died yesterday in a Phoenix hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Mercer Mortuary chapel, 1541 E. Thomas. The Rev.

John D. Robinson of the Garfield Methodist Church will officiate. will be in Green Acres rial Gardens. Survivors include his Florence; a stepson, McGlynn of Phoenix; and brothers and three sisters of state. Mr.

Brown was a contractor and came to in 1958 from Wichita, where he had lived years. Rites Set For Victims Of Accident SCOTTSDALE-Joint funeral services for Charles A. and Kathryn L. Tribble will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Messinger Mortuary chapel, 515 E.

Indian School. The couple died Friday as the result of an auto accident on Arizona 87 near Sunflower. Additional services and burial will be in Erie, Pa. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Mr. Tribble, 61, was born in Warren, and spent 22 years on the Erie police force. The couple came here after he retired in 1959. He worked for seven years as a security guard at the Biltmore Estates. He was a member of the Ma-22 sons, Scottish Rite Bodies, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Grottos, a Masonic order.

Mrs. Tribble, also 61, was born in Erie. She was a member of the Grottoettes. They are survived by two sons, Douglas of Scottsdale and Charles of Erie; and two grandchildren. Mr.

Tribble also i is survived by a brother, Walter, of Phoenix. Edmund Buttcane Edmund Buttcane MESA Funeral services for Edmund Buttcane, 64, of Apache Junction, will be held at 2 p.m. today in M. L. Gibbons Mortuary chapel at 33 N.

Sirrine. Mr. Buttcane, a native of Idaho, died yesterday in a Mesa hospital. Bishop Joseph P. Savage of the Mesa 12th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will officiate.

Burial will be in Jerome, Idaho. Mr. Buttcane was a furniture dealer and came here after retirement three years ago. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Darling of Plymouth, Idaho, and Mrs.

Joan Brulott of Eden, Idaho; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters out of state. Carlos Altamirano CHANDLER Carlos Altamirano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrosio Altamirano of Marana, died Saturday of illness en route to a hospital here.

Graveside services and burial will be at Gardens of Peace Memorial Gardens. Bueler Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his parents; a brother, Ambrosio Altamirano Jr. of Marana; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Raymond Abbott of Chandler: and his paternal grandfather, Geronimo Altamirano of Marana. Herbert S. Roberts Memorial services for Herbert Stanley Roberts, 69, who died yesterday in a Phoenix hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Asbury Methodist Church, 1604 W. Indian School.

Private entombment will be in the Memory Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Brazill-Whitney Glendale Mortuaries. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife. Esther, at the family home at 2607 Freeway Park; and three brothers out of state. Mr.

Roberts was born in Labascus, and came to Arizona in 1943 after his retirement as a chemist with Proctor and Gamble for 21 years. He operated a service station here for seven years before his complete retirement in 1962. He was a World War I Navy veteran. Alfred Zabin Alfred Zabin, 70, a Phoenix visitor for the past six weeks. died Friday in Mesa Lutheran Hospital.

Mr. Zabin, of 5313 N. Seventh is survived by his wife, Juliette. He was a retired sportting goods store owner in Great Barrington, Mass. He was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services and burial will be in Long Island, N.Y., his birthplace. Nick Hertz Burial GLENDALE-Nick Hertz. 64, Memo- a 14-year resident of the Valley, died yesterday in a Glendale wife, hospital. There are three sisters out of state. Raymond Franco Requiem Mass for Raymond Monche Franco, 33, will be said lat 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 909 S. First Ave.

Mr. Franco, of 515 W. Handley, died Saturday in a Phoenix hospital. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in MortensenKings Funeral Center, 1020 W.

Washington. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Mr. Franco was born in Arizona and had lived in Phoenix years.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons, Richard, Raymond and Henry, all at home; and four brothers, Rudolph, Arthur, Manuel and Ernest, all in Arizona. A Arthur Jacomet Sr. Arthur H. Jacomet a winter visitor from South Bend, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital, He had been living at 4125 E. Belleview St.

for the past four months. Mr. Jacomet was born in South Bend where he operated la bicycle shop and was a member of the Veterans of World War I and the VFW. Services and burial will be held in South Bend. Friends may call at Paradise Chapel, 3934 E.

Marilyn Neubert of Norfolk, two brothers, Lester of Hart, Maine of Rock Island, a sister, Mrs. Leona Melser of South Bend; and six grandchildren. Armitta Rankin Armitta E. Rankin, who came here five years ago from Kenmore, N.Y., died Saturday in a Phoenix hospital. Miss Rankin lived at 9243 N.

(19th Ave. Her age and birth-1 place are unknown. There are no known survivors. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Hansen Mortuary chapel at 8314 N.

Seventh St. The Rev. Marshall Weaver of the Sunnyslope Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunland Memorial Park. Alice Ludwig SCOTTSDALE Mrs.

Alice H. Ludwig, 88, a retired dental assistant, died yesterday in a Phoenix nursing home. Mrs. Ludwig was a dental assistant for 47 years and camel here four years ago from Chicago. She lived at 7531 E.

Cambridge. Funeral services and burial will be in LaGrange, Ill. Messinger Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edward R.

Dudek of Scottsdale and Mrs. Martin V. Clary of LaGrange; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. There are two sisters out of state. William Henderson William Jerome Henderson, 68, who came to Phoenix in 1945, died Saturday in a Phoenix hospital.

Mr. Henderson, of 6012 S. 14th was born in Arlington, and came to Phoenix from Chicago. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the Grimshaw Mortuary chapel at 334 W.
