He was born in Grand Island, and came to Phoenix in 1955 from Washington. He was a mortgage banker for 10 years until his retirement this year and was instrumental in obtaining FHA financing and promotion development for Green Valley Retirement Center south of Tucson.

Mr. Baumann was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Grand Island. and a Mortgage Bankers Association and SERRA Catholic organization. He was an Air Force major in World War II. Surviving arc his wife, Virginia and two brothers and one sister all out of state.

Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Francis Catholic Church. 4715 N. Central.

Friends may call after noon today at the mortuary. Burial will be in St. Francis I Robert W. Wood. 80.

He opened a grocery store in 1945 at 67th Avenue and McDowell and operated it until his retirement in 1964. Surviving are his wife, Frances; a son, William of John Willis did missionary work John Israel Willis. 66. a retired farmer and independent missionary, died yesterday in Tempe Community Hospital.

Mr. Willis. 743 N. 19th was born in Aberdeen. S.D., and moved to Phoenix 10 years ago from Prcscott.

Until becoming ill about six months ago, he had spent part of the last 14 years as a missionary, working primarily with blind children and head hunters in the Philippines. Mr. Powers. 2519 E. Devonshire, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital.

William C. Black Services for William C. Black, 116, a retired farmer, will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Webber and Sons Mortuary, 1641 E. Jefferson.

Mr. Black, 5508 S. 20th died Tuesday in a Phoenix hospital. He was born in Texas and came to Phoenix from Austin four years ago. Survivors include six daughters.

Mrs. Bertha Hawkins and Mrs. Edith Dry of Phoenix. Ruth Black and Mrs. Mattie Bentlev in Oklahoma, Cleo Black of Hobbs.

McDowell. Meeting and election of W. I. i Vv8 Michael John Pettid, 64, member of a pioneer Phoenix family, died yesterday at Doctors Hospital. Mr.

Pettid, 2006 X. 23rd Place, was born in Phoenix to Mr. and Mrs. Michael John Pettid. who operated a bakery at Third Street and Washington.

Members of the family first came to Phoenix in 1818. He managed the Pettid bakery for a while and was pastry chef for Guggy's Coffee Shops at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Kino Council. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
