5, 1979, in Desert Terrace Nursing Home. Mr. Stokes, 5207 N. Black Canyon, retired after 20 years in the insurance business in Phoenix and before that was with the staff of Coconino County Sheriff's office in Flagstaff. He was a member of Phoenix Odd Fellows Lodge 2 for more than 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; stepsons, Edward and Calvin Kenrick; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. There will be no service. Invoice NOTIFICATION OF FUND AVAILABILITY The Department of Housing and Urban Development will accept preliminary proposals for newly constructed housing units under the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program, to be located in the Counties of Maricopa and Pima, Arizona. Note that the HUD Proecdures for Ranking, Appendix 6, Handbook 7420.1, Chg. state that the ranking shall first be performed for proposals in those areas which have not previously received Section 8 New or Rehab Construction Assistance. Builders packets will contain a list of the areas. Proposals may be submitted by private owners or Public Housing Agency (PHA) owners for direct contracting with HUD, or by PHAs on behalf of owners with whom the PHA proposes to contract pursuant to an Annual Contributions Contract with HUD.

Although sufficient contract authority is not presently available to fund the units covered by this notification, the field office expects it will be made available. Accordingly, proposals received in response to this notification may be selected only if contract authority becomes available. There are an estimated 200 units available under this notice. Projects shall be limited to no more than 60 units at any one location, no less than of each proiect shall be 3 bedroom units, no less than of each proiect shall be 4 bedroom units, and the balance of each proiect shall be 2 bedroom units. Proposals of 8 units or less shall be for three or more bedroom units only.

Four or more bedroom units must be townhouse or single family concept. Two-bedroom and three-bedroom units may be flats if the maximum number of units serviced DY an exterior stair is limited to two. Proposais may be submitted at any time prior to May 1, 1979. The field office will batch and rank proposals by the month for selection purposes starting with any proposals submitted by 4:30 p.m. on February 28, 1979.

Submission deadlines shall not appt to proposals for proiects in which the number of assisted units will be limited to 20 percent or less of the dwelling units. However, such proposals received after the deadline will be reviewed only if sufficient contract authority remains from this notification to fund the proposal. Mr. Lyons, of the AkChin Reservation near Maricopa, died Jan. 7, 1979, in Phoenix Indian Medical Center of hitand-run auto accident injuries. He was a supervisor of an Arizona youth employment training program. Survivors include his wife.

Euphresia; a son, Rommel: parents Frederick and Meriel Lyons. Morley Lane GLENDALE Services for Morley W. Lane, 71, who lived here four years and had been a railroad engineer, will be in Franklin Park, Chapel of the Chimes announced. Mr. Lane, 7200 N.

43rd died Jan. 8, 1979, in Glendale Samaritan Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Bernice: daughters, Morlene Cooper and Rosemary Hamilton; and a grandchild. Mrs. Lawrence, 8835 W. McKenzie is survived by her husband, Clarence children, Linda Oemler and Jerry; foster children, Tom and Pat DeLaney; eight grandchildren, two great- -grandchildren; three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be in Des Moines, Iowa, Hansen Mortuary announced. Ethel Wallace Ethel Wallace Services for Ethel Elizabeth Wallace, 73, who moved here 19 years ago and died Jan. 7, 1979 in Maricopa County Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Friday' in Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave.

Palacio Lane, is survived by her children, Rosalie Daly and Yancey five grandchildren; a sister and a brother. Gillis Hansard for Colletti Truck died Jan. 10, 1979, in his home. Mr. Hansard, 9233 N.

11th moved here 19 years ago and was a member of Teamsters Local 104. Surviving are his wife, Grace; children, Sharon Clawson, Cathy Brandon, William Hansard and Dick Brandon; mother, Mollie; six grandchildren; a sister and three brothers. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. Seventh St.

Allen Covey Services for Allen M. Covey, 62, who came to Arizona 50 years ago and had been self-employed in the shoe repair business, will be 10 a.m. Friday in Memory Lawn, 719 N. 27th Ave. Mr.

Covey, 2207 N. 50th Lane, died Jan. 8, 1979, in Maryvale Hospital. Surviving are his wife, La Vonne; daughters, Louise Daugherty, Bobby Rouse and Barbara Sue; mother, Susie A. Covey; five grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.

Walter Wind Friends of Walter Wind, 81, a World War I veteran who died Jan. 8, 1979, in Phoenix Indian Medical Center, may call after 5 p.m. Friday in Peposh Memorial Center, Laveen. Graveside rites will be Saturday morning in Maricopa Cemetery. Mr.

Elsie Hentschel Elsie Dietrich Hentschel, 61, who had been an operator 27 years for Illinois Bell before coming here in 1973, died Jan. 8, 1979, in her home, 4002 E. Taylor. Mrs. Hentschel is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter, Joyce; stepchildren, Darlene Sandi Blessing and Fred Hentschel; seven grandchildren; and two sisters.

Third met Joe Russomano, of 294 N.

Third near Third Avenue and Fillmore Wednesday. They argued, police said. Then they fought, flailing each other with their canes. Kern fell to the ground during the bout. He was taken to Maricopa County Hospital with a possible broken hip.

Police talked to Russomano at his home, but he was not arrested. Kern is 88 year old while his opponent is 83. Marian Dittbrenner Marian Dittbrenner, 59, died Jan. 6, 1979, in Baptist Hospital. Pri- vate services were held.

Mrs. Dittbrenner, 5656 N. 17th moved here in 1974 from Pennsylvania. Surviving are her sons, Tom and William; six grandchildren and a sis- specials at our 35th Ave. all our other stores.
