TJ Steven Payson, 2047 E. Elmwood nominated by Sen.

Barry Goldwater, was appointed to the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. Payson attends Mountain View High School. Dominic Boragina, 853 N. Windsor Circle, nominated by Rep. John Rhodes, and Vice President Walter Mondale, was appointed to the Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.

The Mountain View senior also was nominated by Goldwater for appointment to the Air Force Academy. Ramona Shinn, 1051 S. Dobson, nominated by Sen. Dennis DeConcini, was appointed to the Air Force Academy. She attends Mesa High School.

J. James Russell, 2250 E. Evergreen, was nominated for his Naval Academy appointment by President Carter and Rhodes. He also was nominated for the Coast Guard Academy, New London, after a competitive selection process. The Mountain View senior also was nominated by Goldwater to the Air Force Academy.

In addition, students of the old school are invited to the dedication of the new facility, located at 3320 N. (Carriage Lane. It will be held May 8 at 7 p.m. The new school opened last fall but has not been dedicated.

The original school was built in the late 1800s as a one-room adobe building. It was torn down in the early 1900s to make way for a brick, wo-room structure. In 1946, elementary schools in the Mesa, Jordan, Alma and Lehi disquiets were consolidated into the -Mesa district Jordan school, which was located 200 yards west of what is I how the southwest corner of Dobson and Baseline roads, was not used after the consolidation. Eight years later it was sold, dismantled and jnoved. The classes, which will be held from June 9 through July 3, are sponsored by the district and the Gifted Program Parent Advisory Council. Students need not be enrolled in gifted-education classes this year to enroll in Invitation to Enrichment classes this summer. Course offerings include: astronomy, computer programming, drama, geology, oceanography, typing, desert survival, cooking, photography, science and Spanish. STORY TIME Students who have enrolled in next year's kindergarten class at Kyrene Del Norte Elementary School are invited to become familiar with the school at story-time sessions Tuesday and May 13.

ASU ORIENTATION An orientation for women planning to enroll at ASU next fall will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today in the Yuma Room of the Memorial Union.
