6, 0 EDITIONS The Arizona Republic Saturday, August 9, 1980 Mateo Muniz Rosary for Mateo Muniz, 85, of 3108 W. Alverado Road, will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Mortensen-Kings Funeral Center, 1020 W. Washington. Mass will be 9:30 a.m.

Monday at Immaculate Heart Church, 909 E. Washington. Mr. Muniz died Aug. 7, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born in Mexico, came here in 1909 and had been a farm worker. Survivors include his wife, Cayetana; children, Socorro Gonzales, Stella Hernandez, Isabel Rivera, Antonio, Roy and Joe; 50 grandchildren; 36 greatgrandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Ernest Horn MESA Ernest Horn, 67, a retired driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, died Aug. 7, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mr. Horn, 7125 E. Bell Circle, was a coal miner in Virginia before coming here in 1960. He was a beekeeper as a hobbyist and was a member of the Bee Association. Survivors include his wife, Elsie; children, Helen Blankenship, Geraldine Adkins, Carol Beaver, Connie Post, Cheryl Epstein, Mac and Ernest Horn Jr.

and Richard Walters; four sisters; seven brothers and 14 grandchildren. Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Prayer Funeral Home, 108 N. 56th St. Alfred Huhn Alfred C.

Huhn, 86, who had been a ticket agent for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Huntington, died Aug. 6, 1980, in Doctors Hospital. Mr. Huhn, 4643 E. Oak was a member of Tri City Alliance Church Tempe.

He was born in Little Geneva, and came to Arizona eight years ago. He is survived by his wife, Vera; children, Arlene Huffman and Alfred a sister; two brothers; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale.

Ethel Sutton Services for Ethel J. Sutton, 82, who died Aug. 7, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital, will be 10 a.m. today at Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 W.

Bethany Home. Mrs. Sutton, 2801 W. Medlock, came to Arizona 51 years ago from Oklahoma. She was a native of Springfield, and was a Presbyterian.

Surviving are children, Frances Monroe, Dorothy Sharp and John; two sisters; a brother; five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Thomas Arendt MESA Thomas J. Arendt, 55, a meter reader 20 years for Salt River Project, died Aug. 6, 1980, in his home, 7332 E. Baseline.

Mr. Arendt, a World World II veteran, came to Arizona 21 years ago from his native Chicago. He is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Sandra Blankenship, John and Thomas; two sisters; two brothers and six grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N.

Hayden Scottsdale. Bruna G. Anaya WINSLOW Mass for Bruna G. Anaya, 77, who died Aug. 5, 1980, at Winslow Memorial Hospital, will be 10 a.m.

today at Madre de Dios Catholic Church. Mrs. Anaya, a New Mexico native, moved to Winslow in 1918. Survivors include a son, Thomas Apodaca, and a grandchild. Scott Mortuary made arrangements.

Wyley Bosley SUN CITY Wyley E. Bosley, 74, who retired as a supervisor for the Postal Service's Railway Service Division, Kansas City, died Aug. 7, 1980, in Boswell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bosley, 10611 102nd Drive, was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and National Postal Transportation Association.

He was born in St. Paul, and came here 13 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Violet; daughters, Sandra Coolidge and Sue Wright, and eight grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lundberg Mortuary, 11211 Michigan Youngtown.

Fenner Kimball Services for Fenner D. Kimball, 66, who Was a technical writer 15 years for Sperry Flight Systems, will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale. Mr.

Kimball, 4302 E. Oak, died Aug. 7, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital. He came to Arizona 16 years ago from California. He was a native of Milwaukee.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; stepchildren, Judith Philippi, Jean Cordier and Dan Deuker; a sister; a brother; 10 stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. Vernon Weaver Vernon L. Weaver, 66, a World War II Army veteran who had been a maintenance man at Metrocenter, died Aug. 7, 1980, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr.

Weaver, 1650 E. Whitton, was born in Peoria, and came to Arizona 26 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Jack and Richard Robinette; two sisters; a brother and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N.

Donald Haring Obituaries John Cox, ex-host of talk show, dies John Cox, 70, whose John Sage show on radio station KXIV was the Valley's longestrunning talk show when he retired in 1976, died Friday in his Phoenix home. Mr. Cox, who used John Sage as a radio name, was with KXIV years. His four-hour personal-opinion show for telephone callers was on the air six nights a week. It was noted for lively exchanges between host and caller.

When the show ended in 1976, angry and sympathetic fans called the station to protest. It was replaced by a disco show. Mr. Cox's nightly closing remarks had been, "I neither rock nor do I roll, but I can and a do urge you to think, and when you do give us a call." He was born in St. Louis and was a branch manager for Westing- Brenda Shott Services for Brenda E.

Shott, 19, a Camelback High School graduate and a member of Del Monte Missionary Baptist Church, will be 11 a.m. today at Whitney Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School. Mrs. Shott, 2830 W.

Vista died Aug. 7, 1980, in John C. Lincoln Hospital from injuries suffered Thursday in a two-car collision. She was born in Texas and her family came here when she WAS 5. Survivors include her husband, James; son, Jeremy; mother, Virginia Everhart; father, Billy Edens, and two sisters.

Devota Mann Devota E. Mann, 71, of 3027 E. Corrine, a retired bookkeeper, died Aug. 8, 1980, in Doctors Hospital. She came here 11 years ago from South Dakota and was a member of Gold Star Mothers Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She is survived by children, Echo Dalby, Nadiene Palandri and Warren and Walter Gardiner; a sister; a brother; 10 grandchildren and a great-grand- child. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Paradise Chapel Funeral Home, 3934 E. Indian School. Walter Karow Walter J.

Karow, 62, of 3821 E. Devonshire, who was an electro mechanic for General Electric died Aug. 7, 1980, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr.

Karow came here 23 years ago from his native Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son, John; mother, Anastasia Karow, and a grandchild. Mass will be 9:30 a.m. today at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2312 E.

Campbell. Mary Ondrey Graveside services for Mary M. Ondrey, 79, of 1031 N. 34th who died Aug. 7, 1980, in Hilton Nursing Home, will be private.

She was born in Hungary and came here 26 years ago from Ohio. Survivors include sons, James and Frank; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Thunderbird. George Russell George E. Russell, 85, of 3615 W. Coolidge, a retired Western Union telegrapher, died Aug. 8, 1980, in Veterans Hospital.

Donald Haring, 58, of 2817 W. Solano Drive, who worked for Searls Refrigeration 30 years, died Aug. 8, 1980, in Phoenix Memorial Hospital. Mr. Haring served in the Navy in World War II and was active in Boy Scouts.
