Red Lodge, a small town northeast of Yellowstone National Park, reported the deepest snowfall. Two to 3 inches fell in the park in northwestern Wyoming. Three inches dropped onto the Rockies northwest of Helena, Mont. The National Weather Service ordered a winter-storm watch for the mountains of south-central Montana and northern Wyoming and said there was a chance of heavy nighttime snow.

The snow was part of a cold front that dropped readings as low as 31 in Livington, Mont. the nation's coldest report Monday and spread light rain in the northern Rockies. United Press International Snow fell Monday on the mountains of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana cloaking Red Lodge, with 8 inches 10 days before summer ends. Snowfall was limited to the higher elevations but closed some roads. On Aug.

28, Killington Mountain in Vermont had the first snowfall of the season, about 3 inches at the peak. Summer ends Sept. 23. Going-to-the-Sun Highway, which crosses the Continental Divide in Glacier National Park in northern Montana, was closed because of snow. Officials said they hope to reopen the road today.

Junius D. Bowers, 70, who was serving a foreign mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Sept. 8, 1982, in Tonga. Dr. Bowers was born in Salt Lake City and lived in Mesa.

He was a retired optometrist and a former bishop of the Mesa 11th Ward church. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughters, Karen Chapman and Susie Madrid; sons, David, Robert, Henry and John. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mesa 11th Ward church, 316 S. LeSueur.

Mrs. Davis, of 8450 E. Virginia, was horn in Emporia, and moved to Arizona 14 years ago. Survivors include her husband, James a son, James a daughter, Beverly Jean Kraetz; two brothers and two grandchildren. Mass will le at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at St. Daniels Catholic Church. Henrietta Felton Services for Henrietta Felton, 70, a 16-year resident of Phoenix, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave.

Mrs. Felton died Sept. 12, 1982 at John C. Lincoln Hospital. She was born in Phillips-burg, and moved to Phoenix from Iowa.

She was a member of the North Freeway Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, Glen a daughter, Joyce D. Sandlin; sons, Robert Glenn Lloyd L. and Lyle three sisters, one brother, 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mildred Kiener Mass for Mildred Carmclla Kiener, 69, who lived in Phoenix four years, will be at 10:30 a.m.

today at St. Theresa's Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd. Mrs. Kiener, a housewife, was born in Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Albert; a son, Norman; two daughters, Sandra Jean Damato and Judy Ann Baum-garten; two brothers, one sister, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Refugio Moreno Refugio O. Moreno, 94, of 1105 E. Taylor, a 71 year resident of Phoenix, died Sept.

11, 1982 in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Moreno was born in Mexico. Mass will he at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart Church, 909 E.

Washington. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Whitney and Murphy Chapel, 330 N. 2nd Ave. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Gamboa and Lilia Benites; a brother, six grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Connie DeSimio CAREFREE Connie DeSimio, who lived in Arizona since 1946, died Sept. 12, 1982 at her home here. Mrs. DeSimio, who was born in Chicago, was a housewife and worked five years as a telephone operator at Paradise Inn in Phoenix. She was a member of the Desert Hills United Presbyterian Church and of the Desert Foothills Woman's Club.

Survivors include husband, F'rank, and one niece. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the church at the comer of Darlington Road and the Carefree Highway. Shadow Mountain Mortuary handled the arrangements. Raymond Herbig MESA Raymond Roger Herbig, 50, who worked for Hughes Helicopters died Sept.

13, 1982, at Desert Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Herbig was active in the Army Reserves in Ocean-side, and was a veteran of the Air Force. He was in the process of moving from Red-lands, at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Dao Thi; daughters, Darlynn Smith, Lynde and Nicole Herbig; son, James; three sisters and a brother; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Kraus was born in Milwaukee, and moved to Sun City in 1966. He was a memler of St. Christopher Episcopal Church in Sun City. He is survived hy his mother, Ruth and a sister.

Gnau, 28, an office manager for the Arizona Hospital Association, died Sept. 11, 1982 in her home. Miss Gnau, of 1732 E. Palmcroft, was a lifelong resident of Arizona. She attended Parker High School and Lampson's Business College.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia R. Gnau; grandmothers, Mrs. May Green and Mrs. Aileen Fairbanks, and a sister. Memorial services will be 2 p.m.

Wednesday at Parker Mortuary in Parker. William Lambert Sr. William W. Lambert, 74, a 23-year Phoenix resident, died Sept. 11, 1982 in Mary-vale Samaritan Hospital.

Mr. Lambert was born in Waxahachie, and moved to Phoenix from Dallas. He retired as a chief petty officer from the U.S. Navy after serving 16 years. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor during World War II.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Beauchamp, Sandra Canipau, Dehra Lambert, Pamela Egbert and Kim-berly Iamhcrt; sons, William, Gary and Terry; a sister, three brothers, 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Universal Memorial Center, 1100 E. Jefferson. Harry Edgecomb SUN CITY Harry E.

Edgecomb, 83, a locomotive engineer 38 years for Chessie System Railroads, died Sept. 12, 1982 in Boswell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fdgecomb was born in Beaverdam, Ohio and moved to Sun City in 1963. He belonged to the Brotherhood of locomotive Engineers.

He was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Marian F'dgecomb; daughters, Martha Fenty and Gertrude Ingmirc; sons, Herbert and Walter; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 10298 W. Thunderbird.

Cam-elback Sunset Chapel made the arrangements. Adah Erickson CHINO VALLEY Adah H. Erickson, 62, died Sept. 12, 1982 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Prescott. Mrs.

Erickson was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to Chino Valley in 1980 from Greenville, Miss. She served in the U.S. Womens Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. She was an active member of the Bobby Bisjak Post No.

40, Chino Valley American Legion. She is survived by her husband, Curtis. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the legion hall. Arizona Ruffner Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Fred Carrington Fred Carrington, 94, a construction brick layer, died Sept. 8, 1982, in his home. Mr. Carrington, 1221 S. 13th moved to Arizona 30 years ago from California.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; son, Lemmie Wells; and three grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Camelback Sunset Chapel, 301 W. Camelback. Howard Venema TEMPE Howard Venema, 69, owner of a dry-cleaning establishment in Illinois, died Sept.

12, 1982, at his Tempe residence. Mr. Venema moved to Arizona 14 years ago from Win-field, 111. He was a member of the Community Baptist Fellowship Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, Joan Elaine Ambrosia; sons, Howard James and Kenneth Roger; a sister and a brother; and nine grandchildren.

Sixteenth St. Mary Wason PINE Mary A. Wason, 76, died Sept. il, 1982, in Lewis R. Pyle Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Wason was born in Indiana and moved to Ajo in 1935. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Winslow and moved from Winslow to Pine in 1977. She is survived by her husband, Eldron; daughters, Virginia Freeman, Rille Lem-icux and Sandi Goswick; son, Paul; a sister; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m.

Wednesday in Payson Funeral Home Chapel. Payson Ponde-rosa Chapter No. 64, Order of Eastern Star will conduct graveside services in Payson Pioneer Cemetery. Johnson Attakai FLAGSTAFF Services for Lei- Attakai, 33, a silversmith, will Ik- at 2p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church at Teestu on the Navajo Reservation.

Mr. Attakai died Sept. 12, 1982 in Flagstaff Community Hospital. He was born in Winslow. He is survived by his wife, Blanche; daughter, Aretha; father, Miller; five sisters and five brothers.

Owens Mortuary in Winslow handled the arrangements. Howard Cundiff WINSLOW Funeral services for Howard Cundiff, 64, will he 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Cundiff died Sept.

9, 1982 in the Winslow Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bayfield, and owned Cundiff Tile a contracting company in Durango, Colo. He moved to Winslow in 1975 where he owned and operated the Delta Motel. He is survived by his wife, Clara Belle; daughters, Verna ('luff and Karen Clovis; sons Wayne and John; mother, Mrs. Gracie Cundiff; three sisters, 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Owens Mortuary in Winslow handled the arrangements. Benny Estudillo WINSLOW Benny Estudillo, 24, who worked for a blood plasma bank in Gallup, N.M., died 10, 1982 in Gallup. Mr. Estudillo was born in Winslow and attended Winslow public schools. He is survived by his parents, and Betty Estudillo; grandfather, Benito Estudillo; two sisters, and three brothers.

Mass will he 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Owens Mortuary made the arrangements. Leo Anderson WINSLOW Io W.

Anderson, 83, an engineer with the Santa Fe Railroad before his retirement in 1966, died Sept. 13, 1982, in Winslow Memorial Hospital. Mr. Anderson was born in Westmoreland, and moved to Winslow in 1919 to work on the railroad. He is survived by his nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Methodist Church, Hillview and Kinsley, in Winslow. Owens Mortuary handled the arrangements. agrjB Donald Hamilton PAYSON Donald Alton Hamilton, 71, a home builder in Payson, died Sept. 7, 1982, in St.

Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Elks in Payson. He also had worked for a cotton gin near Coolidge, Union Rock and Gravel and United Materials of Scottsdale. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters, Barbara Dee Hamilton and Sheryl Dawn Ostrowski; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at the Payson Elks Lodge. Arrangements were handled by Carr Mortuary in Tempe and Payson Funeral Home in Payson. Ruby Nichols STRAWBERRY-Ruby Lee Nichols, 65, a 40-year resident of Phoenix who had lived the last five years in Strawberry, died Sept. 11, 1982 in Payson. Mrs.

Nichols moved to from Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Mrs. Barbara Robinson and Mrs. Patricia Miller; and five grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m.

today in Messinger Mortuary Chapel in Scottsdale. Harry Johnson PRESCOTT Services for Harry Lee Johnson, 69, who died Sept. 12, 1982, at his home here, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Open Door Baptist Church in Prescott Valley. Mr.

Johnson was born in Senatobis, and moved to Prescott nine years ago. He worked for Prescott Valley Inc. and Fain Land and Cattle Co. until retiring in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Lola.

Mr. Black was horn in Texas and moved to Globe in 1948. He served in the Army during World War II and was an Elk. He is survived by sons, Randy Van Black and Gary C. and Euell E.

He worked in the field of industrial engineering and industrial gas application. He was a member of the Lakeview Rotary Club, the Fairway Art Club, Bell Art Club and Sundial Art Club. He taught classes in art at the Fairway Art Club and gave art lectures in Sun City and Sun City West. He has exhibited his portraits and paintings at Sun City art shows. He is survived hy his daughters, Lucille Kapitan, Betty Numerof and Sally Hughes; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
