They also have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. George Jones was a maintenance supervisor for Arizona Baptist Children Services. Doris Jones is a homemaker. 22 with dinner and dancing. The Pihls were married Aug. 21, 1948, in Chicago. They moved to Arizona in 1970. The couple have two children: Melissa Fariello of El Cerrito, and Donald Jr.

of Portland, Ore. They also have two grandchildren. Donald Pihl was a sheet-metal journeyman for Climate. Betty Pihl was an office worker for Sears. Both retired in 1991.

The couple met through mutual friends. EMs and Rosemary Priest Elvis and Rosemary Priest (formerly Rosemary McMillian) of Phoenix celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 3 1 with a dinner. The Priests were married July 31, 1948, in San Pablo, Calif. They moved to Arizona in 1956. The couple have four children: Deborah Brown, Danita Fenn andDaniel and Dean, all of Phoenix.

They also have 1 1 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Elvis Priest was a minister for various churches and Campus Crusade for Christ. Rosemary Priest is a home builder. The couple met on a blind date. Renard and Marie Cocozza Renard and Marie Cocozza (formerly Marie Cuccinelli) of Mesa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug.

2 with a dinner. The Cocozzas were married Aug. 1, 1948, in the Bronx, N.Y. They moved to Arizona in 1983. The couple have three children: Valerie Vetere of Castle Rock, and Susan Charron and Renard, both of Mesa.

They also have nine grandchildren. Renard Cocozza was a mail carrier in Bethpage, N.Y. He retired in 1983. Marie Cocozza worked at Jefferson School in Mesa. They met on the steps of a Bronx school.

John and Bernice Kalusa John and Bernice Kalusa (formerly Bernice Bergstrom) of Mesa celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 9 with a dinner. The Kalusas were married May 8, 1948, in Chicago. They moved to Arizona in 1985. The couple have four children: Kris Wooley, John and Kurt, all of Mesa, and Kim of Saugus, Calif. They also have four grandchildren and one step grandchild.

John Kalusa was a senior buyer for Whittaker. He retired in 1985. Bernice Kalusa is a homemaker. They grew up on the same street in Chicago and were set up on a blind date by a cousin. Louis and BetteDeGroot Louis and Bette DeGroot (formerly Bette Ellis) of Surprise celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 28 with a dinner and dance.

The DeGroots were married July 28, 1948, in Green Bay, Wis. They, moved to Arizona in 1988. The couple have five children: Nona Gleason and Bob of Waukesha, Jeff of Green Bay; Janine Beauchaine of Iola, and Lisa Collar of Shiocton, Wis. They also have seven grandchildren. Louis DeGroot was a claim supervisor for State Farm Insurance Co.
