Bob was a member of the American Radio Relay League, the Arizona Repeaters Association, the Donor Network Speakers Bureau and the Red Cross. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine W. Bast of Phoenix; daughter, Jamie Shumway-Snyder of Phoenix; sister, Carole Gilbert of Flagstaff and 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Brock. Monte Julian Bauer, 89, of Phoenix AZ, passed away April 28, 2002. Mr. Bauer was born October 5, 1913 in St. Louis, MO. He is survived by companion, Amy Taylor; 2 daughters, Sharon Adams and Barbara Orr; son, Robert Bauer; 7 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Betty A Brown, age 75, formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana died April 29, 2002 in Phoenix, Arizona. Bernard worked for Ead's Cattle Breeding Service for 25 years and was a 40 year member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Modean Cody, son Charles Cody, step-children Jeanette Squires Bill Bowman, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Willard was born in Ross Township. Michigan in 1915 and was one of 7 children. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII, including 24 months in the European Theater. He lived in Battle Creek, Michigan, and worked for the Kellogg Co.

for 43 years. He has spent his retirement in Phoenix since 1992. Vincente Acosta Esparza, 89, of Kensett Arkansas, passed away April 29, 2002. Retired Meat Cutter in Florence, AZ. Farthing died on April 28, 2002. He was born June 4, 1921 in Forney, Texas. In 1950 he met and married Geneva Hankins. He was drafted in 1942, W.W.II into the army, 450th U.S. Signal Corps Battalion and served four years as a lineman.

He was stationed throughout Europe and was honorable discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1945. He returned home and finished college at Samuel Houston in Texas receiving a B.S. degree in education. He came to Arizona and attended ASU. He taught various grades at McNary Elementary School in Arizona until he retired.

He was also coach of the Elementary School and later became High School coach and won two championships. He was nominated for Coach of The Year. He retired in 1982 from teaching and lived in Phoenix. Jesse was a member of the Omega Phi Si Fraternity and held many other offices. He was a member of First Institutional Baptist Church, Pastor W.

H. Larry was born November 11, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio. Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marion; his children Michael, Catherine, Angela, Larry Anthony, and Mark; and 13 grandchildren.

His mother Anna; his brothers Michael and Robert; and his sisters Mary Beth and Kay Ann also survive him. A memorial service will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, 1351 E. Guadalupe, Gilbert at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 4. His ashes will be laid to rest in the family plot in Little Italy, Cleveland, next Saturday, May 11, 2002.

Margaret moved to Brentwood, CA to live with her daughter, Irene Phillips, in 1994. She is preceded in death by her husband Charlie in 1989, and her brother, George Linaweaver in 1999. She grew up in Pacific Grove, California and became a U.S. citizen by choice. She moved to Phoenix in 1958. She was store manager 22 years for Circle before retirement. She was not only a devoted mother and grandmother, she was also a true and faithful friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Young and husband, Terry of Phoenix; step-daughters, Carol, (Ron) Battin and Shirley (Bill) Gartside, both of Phoenix; and granddaughter, Paula Fields of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Our mother, graceful lady of the Islands, Scottsdale Artist passed away peacefully on April 24, 2002. Born January 11, 1921 in Hamburg, Iowa to Hubert Harvey and Sadie Mae Griffith. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Hugh, Stoner and sister Kathryn. On March 14, 2002 her husband Bob, to whom she was married for 58 years passed away. Mary met and married Bob in 1944.

Bob was a dashing Naval Officer and Mary, a beautiful young servicewoman in the WAVES. They lived in for an idyllic 11 years in Kailua, Hawaii before moving to Burlington, Vermont in 1962. In 1966 Mary and Bob and their family moved to Scottsdale. She is survived by her son Rob (Virginia) of Payson, daughter Mary Gaylord Ingram of Scottsdale, calabash daughter Susan Trumball of Novato, nieces Joanie, Mary Beth, Connie and Betsy, nephews; Bill, John Arthur, Stoner Allen and Danny, grandchildren; Josh (Lia), Codie (Al), James and Hayley, great-grandchildren; Reid, Campbell, Truman and Gabriella. Mary was an accomplished artist and a volunteer at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center.

She loved children and her day was complete when she heard a childs' laugh. Memorial Services will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Congregational Church, 5542 E. Lafayette Phoenix on May 5, 2002 at 3:00 PM. Daniel Marvin Inman, age 87, passed away April 30, 2002 at his daughter's home in Tempe. He was born on March 19, 1915 in Esther, MO to Addison and Grace Baldwin Inman. He spent his early life in Picher, OK where he graduated from high school. He served as a medic with the 38th Calvary Reconnaisance Squadron in the European Theatre during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart during his military service. Later he served in the Active Naval Reserve during the Korean Conflict.

He married Dora Mae Baumann on December 22, 1946 and they were later sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1952. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1948 and began his long career as an educator, spanning 45 years. He was a long time resident of Joseph City and later Holbrook and served as an educator and administrator in the Joseph City and Holbrook School Districts from 1956 to 1980. He retired from the Holbrook School District in 1980 and continued to teach part time at Northland Pioneer College until 1993. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a high priest and holding many leadership positions through the years.

He serves as Stake Clerk, Executive Secretary of the Holbrook Arizona Mission, Stake Geneological Director, Stake Physical Facilities Clerk, along with many other callings. He also served a 2 year mission for the Snowflake Arizona Stake. He was a loving father and a friend to all he met. He is survived by his wife, Dora Mae of Holbrook, 2 sons, Gregg and his wife Carla of Phoenix and Stan and his wife Marilee of Woods Cross, UT; 2 daughters, Susan and her husband, Jim of Tempe and Denise of Mesa; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Carl and Gene both of Lancaster CA and a sister, Alma Schlueter of Kearns, Ut. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M.

Sat. May 4th at the Holbrook Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a Visitation one hour prior to services at the Church. Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled arrangements. James W. Irving, 60, of Phx, died May 1, 2002 at Life Care Center of PV after a long illness.

He was born in Kenosha, WI on March 31, 1942 to William and Ruth Irving of Santa Monica, CA who survive him. He left Kenosha in 1978 and moved to Cleveland until 1997 when he moved to Phx. He worked for Eaton Corp. for over 23 years in Kenosha as an Accountant for Dynamatic Corp and in Cleveland as a Controller for Industrial Drives Division. He also worked for Fairview Bowling Lanes for over 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Donna M. A graduate of North Shore Country Day School, Karen attended Vassar College, graduated from Northwestern University and received her master's degree from Roosevelt University. Kenneth Wm. Kittle of Glendale Arizona, passed away the afternoon of April 30, 2002, at the age of 86. Mr. Kittle was married to Jean Elizabeth Kirk for 49 years and worked in the garage door business right up to his 86th year. Mr.

Kittle was a cheerful outgoing man, loved by all who knew him. He will always be missed. He was a loving father to Barbara Elizabeth, Kenneth Wm. Jr. and wife Margaret, a special grandfather to seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Adriana Hernandez Lucearo, 73, of Phoenix, passed away into the arms of our Lord, April, 30, 2002.

She was born June 14, 1928 in Miami, AZ. Her devotion was to her Faith and Family. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank, of 55 years. Her children: Martha Vega, Margaret Fernandez, Mary Lou Gonzalez, Marilyn Lucero, Angie Aguilar, Frankie, Michelle, Christopher, Francie, Michael, Mary and Tommy Lucero; (26) Grandchildren, and (17) Great-Grandchildren. She became a Cursillista and an Auxiliary member of the "Legion Of Mary" in 1960.

She worked at the old St. Joseph's Hospital and at St. Matthew's School Cafeteria. Adriana lived a full life, always ready to give and asking nothing in return. Her husband and her children honor her as "Blessed!" Although she was disabled for the last 16 years, she always asked about the wellbeing of other's.

She is also, survived by her brothers and sisters Encarnacion, Chepi and Johnny Hernandez, Mary Cowger, Rachel Pollak, Frances Hernandez and Bobbie Maldonado and many other family members that will treasure her forever. He was born in Manitowoc, WI; and moved to Phoenix in 1953. He retired in 1980 from the city of Phoenix as a Sanitation Inspector. He served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ina, sons Steven and Jerry, daughters Karen Pecjak (Eddie) of Tucson, AZ, Jackie Donnelly and Carolyn Maertz, grandchildren Michael Ouellette, Jacob Maertz, Deanna Maertz, Andrya Maertz and Holly Maertz of Banbury, England.

He is also survived by two nephews and one niece, Manitowoc, and one nephew in Dallas, TX. A celebration of life is planned at 1p.m. on May 4 at the family home. Frederick W. Mahitka, 65, of Phoenix AZ, was born in Detroit, MI March 5, 1937, passed away April 30, 2002.

He was predeceased by his parents Stanley Victoria Mahitka, brother Walter, and sister Hedwig Navarre.
