Of course, you can always check out your favorite restaurant. Many of them have special dinner packages. Or you can dance the night away at one of the many Northeast Valley nightclubs. But if you're looking for a ballroom setting, here are a few options.

The Kierland Resort is offering rooms for $99 for the night. And for those who purchased the $25,000 to $100,000 tables, the hotel is giving the donor a free suite with two bedrooms. "It's going to be the largest slumber party in the Valley," Jeanne Herberger says.

Valley getaway The Hyatt at Gainey Ranch is hosting a big holiday bash. The $125-per-person party from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. includes a hosted bar, a balloon drop, a champagne toast and a buffet. Along with the grilled prawns, smoked trout, grilled lamb chops, grilled swordfish and roast salmon there will be party favors, and dancing to Shining Star.

If you want to plan a miniget-away, the resort has a New Year's Eve package rate. The $345 rate includes two tickets (adults only) to the party in the ballroom and a one-night stay in a preferred room with a private balcony. Details: (480) 991-3388. The fund-raising scene on New Year's Eve is typically quiet, with the exception of the popular Vlad Fiesta Bowl Ball. "The entertainment, ETA Entertainment, a nationally recognized group which has played for noted athletic venues, will be a stellar addition to our extraordinary black-tie evening," says Ellle Zlegler.
