Myrtle Phoenix, AZ, Oct. 18, 11am. Eileen C. Lex, 79, of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the LaufersweilerSievers Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Alzheimers Association. Guan Loveall of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, October 14th, 2003 at the age of ninety seven.

Guan was born in Pioneer, Oklahoma on June 24th, 1906 and was the eldest of six children. In 1929 she married Grady Loveall and together they moved to Arizona in 1935 where they owned and operated Sureway Market for She is survived by her brother, Raleigh McCall of Tyro, KS, two sisters Olga Barnhart of Guthrie, OK and Ann Wolff of Houston, TX. She is also survived by two daughters, Jane Auten of Las Vegas, NV and Joann Zavala of Seligman, AZ, three grandchildren, Loren Licht and Zana Johnson of San Diego, CA and Crystal Sebastian of Phoenix, three great grandchildren, Lena Licht, Tara, Licht, and Zanden Johnson ore San Diego, CA. Guan will be remembered for her wry sense of humor, love of sports, and the personal relationships she maintained with her family and neighbors. A visitation will be held Friday, October 17th from 6-8 pm.

Mary Margaret Clarke, 82 of Phoenix passsed away Sept- ember 28 after a long illness. Born in Kansas City, Mary was a Phoenix resident for almost 50 years. Mary was a housewife Mother and for many years worked for SprouseReitz stores. She is survived by her two Sons, William and John and her eldest sister Jewell. The Love of her life, her husband William Joseph preceded her in death.

Leon McGarrah, 80, of Dewey, Arizona, passed away October 9, 2003. Services will be held 4:00 PM. Friday, October 17, 2003 at Heritage Memory Mortuary. Evelyn Burke McGrane (92) died in Chico, California on October 12, 2003. Services will be private.

Evelyn was born in Bethel, Ohio to Clara and Edger Burke on July 28, 1911. Evelyn is survived by her niece, Betty Chadwick of Morrison co, and her two nephews, John E. Evans of Decator, and Robert W. Evans of Chico, CA. Evelyn was married to Harold (Mac) McGrane.

Following his death Evelyn settled in Ames lowa, where she worked for lowa State University until her retirement in 1976. She then moved to Phoenix AZ where she was joined by her twin sister, Marie Evans, in 1984. From that date until Marie's death in 2002 the twins were inseparable. They moved 1 to Chico in 1994 to be closer to family. Evelyn's free time was spent writing short stories and poetry, and she was published in several magazines including "Reader's Digest." Evelyn was also named President of the Ames Iowa Poetry Society in 1974.

Evelyn is best remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She could always be counted on to make a comment that would have everyone smiling laughing. She will be missed. Please make a donation to your favorite charity, in Evelyn's name in sending flowers. Nettie McKenzie, 94, Sun City, AZ, passed away October 14, 2003.

Private family held. services will be Dignity Arrangements entrusted to Sunland Mortuary. Henry Eugene Miller, 77, a Mesa native, died October .14, 2003. Born March 14, 1926, he was the son of J. Edwin and Zelma Crandall Miller.

He attended Mesa schools, graduating from Mesa Union High School with the Class of 1944. He served in the Army in World War following which he studied and gained his CLU and CPA. He was privately employed as an accountant until he retired. He served in the bishopric of Mesa 11th Ward for 14 years, five as bishop. Henry met and married Beverly Lines while they were still students, and they celebrated their 59th anniversary last spring.

He is survived by his wife, three brothers, Marlan Richard John Edwin, and a sister, Joella Marler. Also surviving are his seven children, Stanley E. (Sharon), Julianne, Kathy Hansen (John), Marjie Christensen (Chris), Becky Johnson (Paul), Jennifer Knudsen (Ed), Hyrum E. (Julie), 31 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct.

16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald Mesa. Funeral Services Friday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m.

Carlitos was the eldest son and is survived by 2 brothers, Ralph and James (Terri), 4 sisters, Rosalie McKnight (Ken), Carmen Dominguez, Laura Ramirez (Paul) and Veronica Bryant; 5 nephews, 8 nieces, 5 great-nephews, 6 greatnieces. Riley passed away at the G.E.M. Senior Care Center on October 12, 2003. She was born in Rye, York on April 9, Dignity New 1918 to James and Mary Levister. She was married to her husband Clarence (predeceased) for 60 years. She was a loving mother and of who will be her family.

She was member of the Bethesda Baptist Church in New Rochelle, N.Y. and a member of North Phoenix Baptist Church in Phoenix. Survivors include her son Scott Riley, sister Eloise Shelton, granddaughters, Libra, Maya and Hasha Riley, and great-grand children, Arthur Kirksey IV, Keno and Imani Deale. passed away on October 8, 2003. He was born January, 17, in Hayden, Ariz. Carl was a retired orthodontist and dentist, he graduated from Baylor i University in Dallas, Texas. He was married to Beatrice Marie Trejo Oct. 10, 1941 in the Mesa Temple.

They would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Oct 10. She preceded him in death in Sept, 2002. David A. Seeley, previously of Glendale, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 6, 2003 in Seattle, WA. He was a well known auto mechanic and loved his job. 12th Phoenix, AZ 85041. Kathleen Killingsworth Sowell, 79, passed away October 12, 2003 in Houston, Texas. She was born July 25, 1924 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Dexter and Flora Killingsworth. Mrs. Sowell had been a very active and successful real estate broker in Arizona for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry D. Sowell; children, Bob Sowell, Kay Sowell, and Don Sowell; sister, Marguerite Keith; and numerous nieces and nephews. James J. Stipanuk, 1945-2003, of Chandler passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 12. Jim touched many, many people in his life and will be remembered only with fondness. He was kind and intelligent with a quick wit and a zest for life.

Gaylon Swenson, 49, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2003, at Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Gaylon was born on February 2, 1954, in Hettinger, ND. At the age of 3 his family moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he was raised. On September 8, 1984, he married Judi Wood. Gaylon and Judi lived in Fountain Hills, AZ for 15 years.

Six months ago, Gaylon moved to Flagstaff, AZ. Gaylon was involved with the American Legion in Fountain Hills and loved fishing, hunting, the great outdoors and spending time with his friends and relatives. He was employed with the City of Scottsdale for 12 years. His mother, Patricia Swenson, preceded him in death. He is survived by Judi Wood-Swenson and step Rick Wood, both of Indianola, Washington; his daughter Shawna Branon of Phoenix, AZ; his father Orval Swenson also of Phoenix; his sister Connie Harber of Phoenix, AZ; brothers Norlyn (Patty) of Hazen, ND; Guy, (Virginia) of Scottsdale, AZ; Owen (Barbara) and Casey (Carol) both of Phoenix; many nieces, nephews; and an extended, loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Box 997, Flagstaff, AZ. 86002. i Preston Thomas Tucker, son of the legendary carmaker, died Sunday, October 12, 2003. Born May 19, 1925 in Detroit.

Michigan, he was 78. During his life, Tucker enjoyed professional success, a loving family, and many varied experiences. Following World War Il service in the U.S. Navy, Tucker began his career working for his father, automaker Preston Tucker, creator of the '48 Tucker Torpedo. He served on the board of directors of the Tucker Corporation and its subsidiary, championed development of the car's transmission, and acted as righthand man and confidante to his Tucker father.

and his During the 1950's, young moved to Missouri where he worked on development of the rocket engines powering the early space program. In 1967, Preston Tucker joined Motorola in Phoenix, Arizona, as an engineering manager. During his 38-year tenure with the company, Tucker served in various managerial and executive roles facilities and engineering before retiring in 1995. Preston Tucker his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering Management from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A.

from Drury College. He was a Mason and Shriner, and a member of Phi Gamma Delta and many professional associations in engineering, plant management, and racing mechanics. Preston was also an avid golfer and hunter and enjoyed both sports with professional colleagues and his family. Tucker died in his home in Scottsdale, Arizona, following an extendconvalescence as result of cardiac difficulties and the complications of diabetes. Preston Tucker is survived by Shirley, his wife of 55 years, and his four children and three grandchildren Preston Ill, Lindsay Chapman and her husband, Bill, and 1 daughters, Chelsea and Alyx, Kenton and his wife, DesaRae, and son, Dakota, and Clayton and his betrothed, Jennifer Medley.

All are residents of Scottsdale. Tucker is survived by his sisters, Shirley. Hozier of Sun City West, Arizona, Marilyn McAndrew of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Murietta, California, and his youngest brother, John Tucker of Long Beach, California. Visitation is planned for Thursday, October 16, from 5 to 7 pm at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 East Indian School Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. Services will be held on Friday, October 17, at 2 pm at Messinger Mortuary with interment at Paradise Memorial Gardens to follow.

Brown Rd, Fountain View Room Mesa, AZ Virginia passed away October 13th with her family by her side at Banner Hospice House. Virginia was born in Chicago on March 19, 1913 and moved to Arizona in 1956. She was a loving wife, mother and grand mother. She was a member of the Eternal Life Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester B.

Harry Kenneth Wolff, 68, of Cave Creek, Arizona died at home on October 13, 2003. He was born on July 30th 1935 in Greensburg, I Pennsylvania to R. and Laura A. (Buzzard) Wolff. He graduated from Greensburg School in 1953.

Dignity High He served 3 years in the United States Air Force and 3 years in the Pennsylvania State Police. He was Married to Deanna Ritchey on August 21st 1961. They relocated to California where he graduated from Pasadena City College. He worked as a real estate appraiser in California and Arizona, retiring in 1998. He is survived by his loving wife Deanna, his daughter Pam and her husband Dr.

Tim Walter of New Lenox, IL and his son Dr. Jason Wolff of Philadelphia, PA. Also surviving are three grandsons, Aidan, Seamus, and Finn of New Lenox, IL. He is also survived by brothers Charles, Raymond, and Clarence and sisters Dorothy Stahl, Marie Stewart, Ethel Burke, and Evelyn Painter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Russel and his sister Florence Stahl.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday October 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, Northeast Corner of Tom Darlington and Carefree Highway, Carefree, Arizona.
