She was an anoi. am teacher, a beloved was a member ofL.iTml First Families of Arizona and a life long member of Creighton United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for over 70 years. Meredith is predeceased by parents Lawrence and Maude Young, sister Margaret Glenn, husband John Butler, husband Samuel Hurlbert, son David Hurlbert. She is survived by 3 children Ronald (iris) Pullman, WA, Marc, Bellingham, WA, Anne (Barry Field) Adamstown, PA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, 1 brother Larry Young (Elton) and 2 sisters, Martha Lough (Otis) and Francis Painter, and many nieces and nephews.

She loved her family greatly and will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Creighton United Methodist Church, 4900 E. Thomas at 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 26. Edward O'Connell Jessen, affectionately known as "Quiet Ed" passed on to be with the Lord on May 24, 2005, at his home in Tempe, AZ.

Born in St. Paul, MN on December 31, 1915, he was employed for 12 years as a salesman for Prudential Insurance. He later retired from Hamm's Brewery after 25 years and moved in 1977 to Tempe. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, after 50 years of marriage, a son and daughter, two sisters and a brother. Surviving are his wife, Beth, of Tempe, sons Richard, Daniel and Jerome; daughters Mary, Patricia, Cathy and Trish; step-children Richard and Peter Beaudry, and sister Carol Groppoli, all living outside of Arizona; plus son Mark (Nancy) Jessen, Surprise, AZ; daughters Jeanne (Phil) Williams, Tempe, AZ; Judy (Herman) Dominguez, Gold Canyon, AZ; step-daughter Michele Beaudry, Chandler, AZ and brothers George (Ceil) Jessen, Sun Lakes, AZ.

and Tom (Theresa) Jessen, Tempe, AZ. Ed is also survived by 27 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ed will be deeply missed by all. A memorial service will be held at Arizona Community Church, 9325 S. Rural Road, Tempe, on Friday, May 27, at 11:00 AM.

A funeral Mass will be held later in St. Paul, with burial at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. aztentralcom Rose Johnson, 79, of Fountain Hills, passed away May 19, 2005 at her nome. Rose was born October 31, 1925 at home in Prairie Farm, Wl, the youngest of eiaht children, to Robert and Herrmann. She at-: 't tended a one room country school for then araduated from Barron High School in 1943, in Barron, Wl. She then attended Superior State Teachers College and decided very early she did not want to be a teacher transferring to Minnesota School of Business. She graduated from there with an accounting degree.

Following her graduation, Rose worked as an accountant hygienist for a dentist in Barron, Wl. On August 28, 1949, Rose married Clifford H. Johnson, and moved to Madison, Wl, where she worked for Ohio Chemical. In 1951, they moved to Akron, OH, where she worked for Helbig Construction Company. In 1953, they were transferred to Milwaukee, Wl.

Rose and Cliff started their family there. They had two daughters, Mary Kay and Pamela Jean. At this point, Rose took the job of mother. Rose, Cliff and two children were then transferred to Akron, OH, in 1958, where a son, Clifford Henry Jr. was born.

From 1969 to 1984, they were transferred to Lincoln, NE, from there back to Akron, OH, to Toronto, Canada and then on to Cumberland, MD, finally retiring to Fountain Hills in August, 1988. Rose was a volunteer in many community activities which included Meals on Wheels, Welcome Wagon, Women's Club, Great Fair and Arts and Crafts Fair volunteer. She was a member and volunteer at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with her husband of almost 56 years and her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing bridge.

Rose is survived by her husband, Cliff, two daughters, Mary Eymann of Papillion, NE; Pam Ehrlich (Steve) of Fountain Hills; one son, Cliff Jr (Pam) of Mesa. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 granddaughter-in-law, and one great grandchild; and two sisters, Helen Saar of Fountain Hills and Chetek, Wl; and Nel Ylvisaker of Wisconsin Rapids, Wl. She is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26th at 11:00 am at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 Fountain Hills Blvd. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.

She is survived by her daughter Diane DeGeorge, daughter-in-love Shirley Kerwin, grandchildren Michele, Frank, Rick, Michael, Mark, Jamie, Julie, and Denise, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. A graduate of the Millard Fillmore School of I Nursing in Buffalo, New York she enlisted and served as a US Army nurse in the China, Burma, India theater in World War II. She was stationed in Ledo and the experience left a lasting impression on her.

Moving to Phoenix in 1960 she raised a large happy family but also dedicated many hours to volunteer service including: Phoenix First Presbyterian Church, Interfaith Cooperative Ministries, Handicapper Outreach for Christ, Casa (Court Appointed Advocate), Phoenix Indian Medical Center Auxiliary President, Cancer Information-line volunteer, Reading to Adobe Mountain Inmates, Long-view school Election Board. Doris loved to learn and once her family was raised she returned to school and proudly received her BA from Arizona State University in 1988. She had a second home in Flagstaff and loved to spend time there relaxing and gardening and reading. She was devoted to her family and is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Herbert F.

Knauss seven children daughters Gail Renning (Bob), Janet Duncan (Don), Joan Seriale (Joe) and sons Gary, Jeff, Glenn and Jay Knauss. Her nine grandchildren Chris, Kelly, Chad, Greg, Alissa, Destinee, Kevin, Katie and Alan were a great joy to her. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday June 4th at Historic First Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am located at 402 Monroe in Phoenix. Mar- garet was born July 15, 1909 in Banquo, Indiana, aaugnter or nomer and Florence! Spaulding. She at-1 tended a one-room 1 1 school in Indiana.

Her family moved 1 to Clearwater, Lf riunud wnere sne attended high school. She won a county academic scholarship to Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) in Tallahassee, graduating in 1932. She then taught 4th grade for two years in Lake Wales, Florida. She also taught 2nd grade at the then newly founded P.K. Yonge Laboratory School at the University of Florida in Gainsville.

On a fellowship at Ohio University in Athens she earned an MA in education in 1935. It was here she met Allan Cree. They were married in 1937 in Denver, Colorado. After their marriage, she completed a B.S. in home economics in 1941.

She worked for two years in Toledo, Ohio, as Lucas County Home Demonstration Agent during World War II. In 1943, Allan began a 40-year career as an international petroleum geologist. The couple formed an uncommonly strong team, and the family grew over the years with the arrival of son Robert and daughter Mary. Allan pursued the challenges of his career as it led the family through Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, and New Jersey. For her part, Margaret always successfully accomplished the difficult tasks of relocating the household, making a new home, and establishing a strong sense of family for their children.

After their children were in college, Allan and Margaret lived in Bartlesville and Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1971, the Crees retired to Sedona, where Allan worked as a consulting geologist and was on the board of a Canadian oil company. They both played golf and enjoyed overseas trips together. Margaret was a member of the Kachina chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, and sister Stella Spaulding.

Margaret is survived by son Robert Boone Cree (wife Elizabeth) and granddaughter Hannah Margaret Cree of Tempe; daughter Mary Catherine Cree and granddaughter Catherine McCormick of Scottsdale; granddaughter Deborah Bagley (husband Christian), great-granddaughter Emma Louise Bagley, and great-grandson Max Bagley, all of San Diego; brother Francis (wife Dorothy) of Avoca, New York; nephew Robert Spaulding of Florida; and nieces Nancy Spaulding (husband Andy Beecher) of Oregon, and Marilee Spaulding of New York. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, at 11 am at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Phoenix. Braden is survived by his mom and dad, Heather and Larry Blythe and his brothers, Kent Erickson, Larry Blythe and Jesse Blythe and his aunt and uncle Tammi and James Pruss, all of Tolleson. He is also survived by his father, Guy Erickson and brother Cory Erickson, his aunt April Cheek, grandparents Florence and Arlo Erickson and Albert and Lyndi Trost, all of Palmer, Alaska and Alice and Larry Blythe of Wasilla, Alaska. He is also survived by a large number of other extended family members. Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2005 at Valley West Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona. Services are pending. 24, 1948, died on May 21, 2005. He was Director of Protection at the Mexican Consulate in Tucson, AZ. Alonso had served his country for 30 years in the Mexican Foreign Service. Alonso was a wonderful husband, a loving companion for his wife Britney, and an exceptional father for Giovanni, Stuart and Trevor.

He will be dearly missed. Alonso was also an unconditional friend to everybody. Arrangements entrusted to Lundberg White Rose Chapel. Henry "Hank" Anders Anderssohn Jr, a local artist and badminton enthusiast, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Hank served with the Marines in World War II, he was 79. He moved family to Arizona i i from Tampa in 1963. Born in Chi cago, an avid Cub fan and a graduate of the University of Illinois, Hank followed his first love and became a minor league baseball player.

While attending college, Hank discovered what would become his favorite pastime, the game of badminton. It took several seasons of minor league baseball in Iowa and Florida before he realized he couldn't hit a curveball. After moving to Arizona with his career as a commercial artist in full swing, he was determined to make an impact on the local badminton scene. During his badminton playing and coaching career he touched the ASU and several high school badminton programs. On the national level, he was a Senior US Open badminton champion.

In addition, he gave private lessons and formed the Arizona Badminton Club. He volunteered as the Grand Canyon State Games Badminton Commissioner and the local badminton crowd became his second family. During his golden years Hank turned more and more to painting for the love of it. He used charcoal, pastels and oils, but his favorite medium was watercolors. He is survived by his two sisters, Alice Swetman of Continental, Ohio and Ruth Napier of Scottsdale, and 4 sons, Henry "Chip" Anders III of Ventura, California, Kenneth Ross of Phoenix, Richard Keith of Chino Valley and Ted Herbert of Bothell, Washington.
