'The House TEMPE A NORMAL ROMANCE Which Had Its Culmination in a fornia Wedding Cali- In making the brief announcement in yesterday morning's paper that Cone Webb of Roosevelt, had returned from a trip to Los Angeles, the reporter was guilty of gross carelessness and neglect in that he overlooked a decidedly important matter and told by far the smaller half of the story.

Webb and Miss Pulsifer was the happy culmination of another romance that had Its beginning in the normal some years ago when both young efple were sutdents at the institution. Miss Pulsifer graduated with the class of isnr, nnd taught several years whiie Mr. Webb gave up school during his senior year and engaged in business at Roosevelt where he was prosperous. Both young people are well known Tempe and have a host of friends who will wish for them a happy future. Mr.

A Recqrd Breaking Attendance at the "Light House Robbery." Tempe has the general reputation of being a poor smw town but recent events have demonstrated the fact that- a good show will draw a good crowd. The Delia Pringle stock company showed Saturday night to a good house and put up such an entertainment that the Goodwin Opera House was almost packed Monday night when the same company presented "The Light House Robbery." Every chair was taken, a number of outside chairs were brought in and a good many people stood up.

The performance was a clean one with the comedy and pathos well Interspersed. There were some good specialties between the acts and as a whole the play was one of the best that has been Seen in Tempe in a long time. The stock company left yesterday for Mesa where It will play the rest of the week and if it ever should be able to stop at Tempe again for one or more nights, it can always depend uopn a full house and a warm welcome, WOOD FROM A DISTANCE. Best went on a flying business trip to Phoenix THE MISSING MONEY OE RAMON BACA The Trial of Lloyd Moulds For Finding and Misappropriating it Begins. On the charge of holding to the doctrine of "Finding Is keeping." Lloyd Moulds was brought to trial before Justice Johnstone yesterday afternoon. Complaint was made against him by Ramon Baca, who had been employed at Granite Reef, that he found and appropriated tx belonging to him. The offense Is alleged to have been committed last Sunday. The sory told by Baca and his witnesses was as follows: Baca said he bad been employed on the government work at the Reef and received his pay last Saturday.

He was going to send $30 to his father in Mexico, and another man wanted to send 23 to his own father. The money was put into an envelope with letters relating to the enclosures. When Baca got ready to pay hls stage fare to Phoenix, the driver was unable to make the change and It was arranged that payment should be made in Phoenix. The bill with which he had intended to pay, was put Into the envelope and was sealed in the presence of Baca's friend, and the stage driver. Baca started on the stage and after getting into the vehicle he felt of bis pocket.

and found the envelope in place. On tlie way, the stage overtook and passed Moulds, who was driving a coal wagon. At Evergreen Baca and the driver got opt of the stage, and then Baca his money was gone. He hurried back over the road which he had traveled, running and walking, until he came in sight of the coal wagon. He saw Moulds get out of it.

pick something up. tear it open and throw it away. Baca did not stop Moulds when he met him, but hurried on and found the torn and empty envelope. He could speak no English and Moulds could speak no Spanish, so that no negotiation with relation to the missing money could be opened until they reached Phoenix. At the corral, through an interpreter, Baca asked about his monev and Moulds said that he had not seen it.

Marshal Moore was brought on the scene and Moulds asked to be searched. Later. admitted lin king up the envelope as he had been described by Baca, but he said it was already torn and empty and his thcorv was that somebody else had found it first. He said though, that he had seen no one else on the road and Baca and the driver of the stage said they had seen no one. This was the substance of the case for the territory and the trial was adjourned until this morning for the testimony of the defense.

Mould's bail was fixed at $230. and It was furnished by George Shlbley, by whom Moulds was formerly employed, and who expressed faith in his honesty. A HANDSOME HOME PIACE PURCHASED Mrs. Helen McCarthney of New York. Becomes Owner of the Thomas Armstrong Jr.
